Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) announced that the telenovela “Sweet Thing” [Cosita Linda], starring Christian Meier, Ana Lorena Sanchez, Zuleyka Rivera, Pedro Moreno, and Carolina Tejera, has conquered Ecuador’s television audience, dominating its timeslot on TC Television with an average share of 20% of television viewers since its debut on January 6th, according to the monitoring reports by IBOPE.
Produced at Cisneros Media’s Miami studios, this original story written by Leonardo Padron, the renowned author of the acclaimed telenovela “Eva Luna,” develops in the city of Los Angeles, California, where the Lujan and Rincon families live in almost opposite worlds. The Lujan’s live a privileged life among luxury, enjoying the benefits of high-class economic status; while the Rincon’s are a middle-class family, simple, hard-working and close-knit. But fate and the love between Diego Lujan (Christian Meier) and Ana Rincon (Ana Lorena Sanchez) will lead these two very different families to cross paths, uniting them forever.
When Ana Lorena and Diego Lujan accidentally meet in a store, the heir to a successful advertising agency is so impressed that he can’t get her out of his mind. Diego is about to marry a famous model, Viviana Robles (Zuleyka Rivera), but fate has other plans… and will turn this chance encounter with Ana Lorena into a passionate love story.
A few days before he is to marry Viviana, Diego runs into Ana again, this time on a cruise ship where he is a passenger and she is working as a waitress. With that unexpected meeting, a profound love flourishes between them and he decides to cancel the wedding and start a new life with Ana. But things don’t work out as they expected. Viviana, hurt and spiteful, sets a trap for Ana on the day that she and Diego are supposed to meet at the airport to travel together. Falsely accused of drug trafficking, Ana is sent to prison for a few months, unable to explain to Diego what really happened.
After being released, Ana begins working as a makeup artist and, once again, destiny brings her face to face with Diego. Hired for a wedding, she soon discovers that the bride is none other than Viviana, who managed to win Diego back through schemes and deception, making him believe that Ana was really guilty of the crime for which she was charged. When Ana and Diego see each other that day, their love overwhelms them, but now it is too late.
The couple’s future becomes even more complicated with the sudden appearance of Olegario (Pedro Moreno), Diego’s half-brother he never knew existed, who fallings in-love with Ana. This marks the beginning of the brothers’ fierce battle for Ana... while Viviana’s web of lies slowly begins to unravel...
