Eduardo Bonfil is a “self-made man.”  From humble beginnings, his real last name is Bonifacio, but he changed it just as he has changed everything about his past. Eduardo turned into a very successful man.  Son of a construction worker and a seamstress, Eduardo, at the young age of twenty-eight, made himself into one of the richest men in Peru.

As he climbed the business and social ladder, he changed his past to accommodate is present situation: he invented foreign parents who died in an accident, he went to a private school, and he was always part of the elite social circles. In order to maintain this lie, Eduardo left behind all of the people who knew him as a child.  For him, they are all “witnesses” of a past that tarnishes his successful present and bright future.
