Cisneros Media Launches Cisneros Media Distribution, a Global Distributor of Entertainment Content

Cisneros Media, a corporate division encompassing all of the Cisneros’s affiliated media and entertainment companies, today announced the launch of Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD), a global distributor of programming and content for all platforms. The announcement comes in anticipation of the industry’s first major international convention of the year, NATPE 2014, to be held at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach from January 27th through the 29th, where the newly established company will operate out of Suite 115 on the Tresor Tower’s 31st floor.

Formerly operating under Venevision International, the Miami-based distributor has been an industry leader for more than 35 years, amassing a vast catalogue exceeding 30,000 hours of television programming, which it has commercialized in more than 100 countries and 20 languages. As part of the Cisneros Media corporate division, CMD represents the products of Venevision Productions, the largest independent producer of Spanish-language programming in the United States, and Venevision, the leading broadcaster in Venezuela; in addition to promoting and commercializing the catalogues of key independent producers from around the world. Manned by one of the industry’s most experienced staff, Cisneros Media Distribution covers the globe, proficiently providing programming content, and commercialization and distribution services in all regions of the world.

Industry veteran Cesar Diaz will be at the helm of Cisneros Media Distribution as its Vice President, supported by an expert commercialization team that includes Miguel Somoza (msomoza@cisneros.com), Director of Sales and Business Development; Daniela Montisci (dmontisci@cisneros.com), Distribution & Traffic Manager; Susana Lopez (slopez@cisneros.com) Advertising & Promotions Manager; and Niurka Corradino (ncorradino@cisneros.com), Customer Relations Coordinator; along with an administrative staff. CMD will continue to operate satellite offices in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

In its debut, Cisneros Media Distribution will present a vast and diverse programming proposal for the upcoming market, NATPE 2014, comprised of a wide variety of entertainment content, from romantic telenovelas and action-packed series to captivating films and documentaries and hilarious comedies, mostly from the industry’s top independent production companies – a component that distinguishes CMD from its predecessor. For example, 50% of the global distributor’s Top 10 products to be showcased at the convention are from third party producers.
