For decades, thousands of Central Americans have lost their dreams, limbs and lives trying to illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
Mexico represents a huge hindrance to those migrants whose only goal is to reach the northern border with hopes of making it to United States. Mexican calvary begins the moment migrants step on Mexican soil; they are hunted down like animals. In Mexico, migrants are discriminated against, raped, assaulted, humiliated, beaten and often killed. They are easy prey to all levels of Mexican authority, assailants, gang members, train drivers, Mexican mafia members and are even targets to those “good Samaritans” whose benevolent tactics include extortion and thievery.
